Just in time for the company's 30th anniversary, Stoll Maschinenbau GmbH from Steinen in Baden is presenting a new series of its rip saws at Holzhandwerk 2024 in Nuremberg: a combination of panel, cross-cut and rip saws.

The increased demand for a flexible saw was the trigger for the development of the new product range focussing on multifunctionality. The result of close cooperation with customers worldwide is the »Jrimac Multicut« multifunction saw, which can be used to process solid wood, wood panels, sandwich panels, insulating materials (including panels), aluminium, Plexiglas, acrylic panels, filter foam and Pertinax.

Panels with a depth of up to 3000 millimetres can be processed very precisely, quickly and conveniently thanks to the air cushion table, actual position measurement of the width stop using two magnetic tapes and thus guaranteed cutting accuracy of ±0.5 millimetres. The recommended collets further improve both cutting quality and ergonomics during work. Thanks to the optional automatic cutting programme, panel processing with the new saw is comparable to that of a conventional horizontal panel saw.

Even cross-cuts are no longer a challenge with the newly developed mitre fence, which can be attached at the start of the cut and serves as a guide for angle cuts from 0 to 90 degrees. Stoll also offers a special solution for long materials: A bridge in the width stop ensures the processing of materials that are longer than the rear machine table. The bridge can be controlled electropneumatically on request.

New possibilities thanks to new cutting heights

In January 2024, the company presented a concept according to which the previous maximum cutting height of 210 millimetres is to be significantly increased by making fundamental adjustments to the design. After intensive and thorough planning, development and conceptual work, the realisation of this project is planned for the first half of 2024. The new design will enable a cutting height of 280 millimetres. Alongside digitalisation, this milestone is the most significant development for the company in the field of rip saws this year.

Roller tables and customised saw blades

For ergonomic and technical improvement of preparation and finishing work for different materials, dimensions and applications, the longitudinal circular saws can be connected to the in-house cross-cut saw and via roller conveyors. Loading can also be realised via movable cross and infeed tables, which can also be supplied as air cushion tables for panel processing. The robust design of the roller conveyors with driven or non-driven rollers also enables the processing of very solid workpieces without great effort. However, thinking multifunctionally also means choosing the right saw blade - in principle the centrepiece of the machine - and adapting it to the individual requirements. In recent months, Stoll has therefore developed its own new saw blades for the various materials, material properties and processing sequences and supplies these - depending on the user's requirements - to match the machine. The multifunctional concept has also been continued here. In addition to special saw blades that are precisely matched to the individual materials, new, flexible saw blades are also offered that are sufficient for most processes and prevent frequent saw blade changes for users who want to process different materials during a working day or shift.

Always one cut ahead with the new JRIMAC „MULTICUT“

The new »Jrimac Multicut« product range has been created with the new multifunctional saw, the extended options thanks to the increased cutting height and the newly developed saw blades. The machine manufacturer from the Black Forest is thus addressing current requirements in order to develop solutions that meet customers' current needs and offer added value.
