Entrepreneurs must constantly ask themselves whether their company's infrastructure is still up to date and whether they can remain competitive in a constantly changing environment. The question of whether and to what extent employees are able to cope with and appreciate the material provided is also increasingly leading to changes. The open secret to the company's success lies behind good budgeting, precise profitability calculations and effective investments. Effectiveness is an important keyword in view of the limited resources: the demands placed on an application today are high and are constantly increasing due to new inventions.
For private individuals today, effectiveness is epitomised by the smartphone and Thermomix in the kitchen, for example. Whereas just a few years ago we needed a mobile phone, a navigation system, an MP3 player and our digital camera, today a smartphone with a 6.1-inch display and a thickness of 1.1 centimetres contains all the functions of these devices. The Thermomix makes blenders, kneading machines, rice cookers, scales and now even cookery books obsolete, as it is a multifunctional appliance and we no longer need the individual appliances.
Multifunctionality also inspires
Company.
For entrepreneurs, effectiveness is epitomised by machines that can be used for a wide range of applications. The decision as to whether to invest in three different machines or rather in one that includes all the functions of the three individual machines and even surpasses them in terms of quality and price is often not difficult in view of the corresponding investment sum, the space savings and the result of a possible profitability calculation.
In times when even market leaders are changing their product portfolio more frequently than usual in order to adapt it to the constantly changing sales market, flexibility is also an important keyword. Machines that are severely limited in their functions are not as effective as machines that can be used flexibly, which is why Stoll Maschinenbau GmbH has developed the »Jrimac rip saws« series of sawing machines with efficiency and flexibility in mind. What more than 20 years ago was a very simple machine designed exclusively for solid wood processing is now a multifunctional tool that covers the vast majority of sawing technology applications. The options range from groove cutting programmes to fully automatic cutting processes.
Developed for the needs of the user.
By working closely with actual and potential users of the sawing machines, the company from Steinen in Baden is constantly developing new options. Only in this way is it possible to adapt the saw to the needs of companies in the best possible way. The result of this continuous development is a machine that combines the functions of a cross-cut saw, a panel saw and a rip saw. The factors of time savings through speed, high safety standards and the guaranteed cutting accuracy of ±0.2 millimetres in relation to the cutting length of up to 11.20 metres often play a role in the purchase decision.
Cross-cut and panel saws are standard equipment in joineries and staircase builders. The predominant material in these companies is wood, for which the »JRIMAC Top« was originally designed. But why only use wood when it is also possible to process Plexiglas, insulating materials and panels of all kinds? The topic of flexibility in connection with the »JRIMAC Top« sawing machine should be mentioned again and confirmed by the various areas of application, as the machines are now also used in companies that specialise mainly in processing insulating materials, for example Stadur Produktions GmbH & Co. KG in Hammah, for example, has been using the sawing machine around the clock for a good seven years to process sandwich elements. For this application, the saw was equipped with a few additional elements to ensure that the abrasive material does not damage the machine. In addition to sandwich elements, it is also possible to process XPS insulation boards, rock wool or similar materials.
Advantages of investing in a multifunctional machine.
Using the multifunctional saw »JRIMAC Top« as a cross-cut saw is equivalent to a dedicated machine in terms of speed, handling and safety. However, due to the extended range of applications from panel processing to use as a rip saw, it is not comparable to a cross-cut saw with limited functions. This can be a decisive factor when weighing up which investment is the most economical. The 90-degree fence with dimension indicator at the start of the cut is recommended for use as a cross-cut saw. The safety provided by the machine when used as a rip saw is also ensured in this modified function, as the workpiece hold-down device also holds small pieces in position.
The »Futura Top« as a horizontal panel saw can also be an attractive investment for companies that rarely process panel goods and are therefore hesitant to invest in a pure panel saw. With the help of supports with ball rollers in the machine table, even heavy goods can be moved very easily. When processing panels, optional clamps are available to make moving the material even easier. In combination with the automatic cutting programme and a 2120 millimetre deep rear machine table, large panels can be cut into small strips fully automatically without active intervention by the operator. In the field of solid wood processing, the longitudinal circular saw remains the non plus ultra, which is also reflected in the sales figures. Many staircase builders use the machine to conveniently process solid planks and achieve a high-quality cutting result. Workpieces up to a thickness of 210 millimetres can be processed with the recommended 15-kilowatt saw motor. Thanks to the power-monitored saw motor, which reliably prevents the saw blade from jamming, but at the same time does not lead to an absolute interruption of the cut, which can be continued without interruption, thick material can be processed without hesitation. Weber Haus, based in Rheinau-Linx, for example, has been using the machine in its solid wood department since mid-2022. In the years before that, the company worked with an older model from another manufacturer. After the initial experience with the saw, Weber agrees that the new options of the »JRIMAC Top« have quickly proven their worth, as the machine achieves a better cutting quality and therefore more precise results, while also being easier to handle.
Conclusion.
The multifunctional saw is versatile and offers users flexibility and effectiveness with their investment. At the same time, there are no noticeable losses in terms of precision or speed. The all-rounder machine therefore saves money, space and running costs.
